There is no technical objection to widening the rear axle track on Porsche 924 cars using spacer plates.

Complete conversion kits for widening each wheel track by 15 mm (Part No. 477 698 153A) or 28 mm (Part No. 477 698 154) are available as accessories.

CAUTION

Conversions should only be made on cars which are in a good mechanical condition. The procedures must be carried out correctly using only original Porsche rereplacement parts.

Note

All Porsche parts can be identified by the Porsche part number as well as the registered official Porsche emblem.

Spacer plates, installing

The spacer plates may only be applied in conjunction with original Porsche aluminum wheel rims, size 6 J x 14, and the corresponding longer wheel bolts or wheel nuts.

Wheel nut tightening torque values are as specified in the Owner's Manual. Since the wheel bolts or wheel nuts have a 19 mm width across flats, instead of 17 mm for the standard version, a 19 mm wheel bolt wrench must be added to the car's tools.

CAUTION

There may be insufficient clearance between wheels and fender wells when using tire chains on wheels with spacer plates. In this event, the spacer plates will have to be removed and original track width restored.
