During March/April of 1983, fighter (4 grams) connecting rods were installed in a number of 1983 Model vehicles. Lighter version rods have the code "-4G" stamped in and a yellow paint dot near the crankshaft end.
Engine ranges affected are:
43DE052 to 43DE682 - manual trans. 43D6294 to 43D6313 - auto. trans.
A similar series of lighter (4 grams) connecting rods were installed in 1984 Model vehicles during November, 1983.
These lighter version rods have the code "./.4 GRAMM" stamped in and also have a yellow paint dot. Engine ranges affected are:
43EO4625 to 43EO4628 43EO4630 43EO4645 to 43EO4867
Note
Lighter version rods are not available as spare parts. In case of repairs, replace with a complete set of standard weight rods.
