Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Adjust parking brake if lever can be pulled beyond 8 clicks with average force and no braking effect is noted.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove rear wheels.
3. Release parking brake and press pads into rear caliper until disc rotates freely.
4. Remove brake lever boot and rotate adjusting nut on lever/cable connector until cable is tension free.
5. Insert screwdriver into adjustment hole in rear brake disc and rotate adjuster until it stops.
6. Rotate adjuster back until wheel turns freely.
7. Pull up parking brake lever two teeth, and rotate adjustment nut under boot until wheels can be rotated by hand.
8. Release parking brake lever and check that wheels rotate freely.
9. Tighten adjuster lock nut.
