To avoid drive belt jumping, belt tension must be checked and, if necessary, adjusted at every maintenance service on all 2-valve engines (1978 to 1984).

For checking and adjusting procedure, refer to Workshop Manual, Volume 1, page 15-18c.

NOTE:

When cylinder No. 1 is at TDC, TDC marks on each drive belt gear must line up with pointers on camshaft housings.
