OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVABLE LIFTING ROOF SINCE 1984 MODELS.

The electrically adjustable and removable lifting roof can be opened infinitely up to the final position with the ignition on by operating the switch in the center console.

Open roof by pressing switch toward rear.

Close roof by pressing switch toward front.

Removing Lifting Roof

The sliding roof should be cleaned before removing it, so that it cannot be scratched by deposits of dirt.

1. Turn off ignition but leave the key in and press switch toward rear until the locking tongues unlock the roof.

2. Open the front fasteners.

3. Lift and take off roof.

4. Place removed roof in provided protective cover to store in the luggage compartment.

Installing Lifting Roof

1. Slide on roof at an angle from above over the wind deflector and front guides.

2. Lower roof toward rear.

3. Turn off ignition but leave the key in and press switch toward front until the locking tongues lock the roof.

4. Close the front fasteners.

Closing Lifting Roof Manually

The roof can also be closed manually if the electric roof drive fails. The operating motor and necessary wrench are located on the left side of the luggage compartment behind the carpet.

1. Remove clips on carpet and fold back the carpet.

2. Unscrew winged screws on wrench and take off cap on adjusting screw.

3. Unscrew adjusting screw with the wrench completely and remove the screw.

4. Turn the threaded spindle, which is now visible, counterclockwise with the wrench until the lifting roof is closed.

5. Screw in adjusting screw again and tighten. Install cap. Check adjustment of slip clutch on lifting roof motor.
