Work Procedure
Replacement of bushings in cruise control linkage:
Required tools: 1 screwdriver - large 1 angled needle nose pliers
- Move driver seat all the way back.
- Remove the cruise control cable off of the linkage with screwdriver.
- Remove circlip and washer from linkage shaft with angled needle nose pliers, and remove linkage.
- Remove metal bushings from linkage, hold linkage into vise and push bushings out with a punch.
- Install new plastic bushings, to keep the bushings from falling out, insert with suitable grease.
- Clean shaft and lubricate.
- Reinstall linkage, new plastic washer and circlip. Make sure that circlip sits correctly in groove.
- Reinstall cable for cruise control linkage, check linkage for free movement.
