Brake Pad: Service and Repair

911 Turbo

If brake pads are going to be reused, mark pads for installation. Do not interchange pads from inboard to outboard or from left to right wheel assemblies.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
4. Using suitable pliers, pull out warning contact (wear indicator) from brake pad plate. Replace wear indicators, if lead core is ground through. The wear indicator is still usable, if only the plastic portion of the indicator has signs of grinding.
5. Using tool 1966-2 or equivalent, remove brake pads.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
