ATTENTION: This bulletin replaces Bulletin Group 3, Number 8609 dated October 31, 1986.
Metallic or clicking noises at engine idle speed could be caused by loose drive plate rivets.
Loose or noisy drive plates on 1985 through 1987 model cars can be repaired by replacing the rivets with bolts, washers and nuts.
Work Procedure:
Center punch and drill out rivets. Install bolts, head facing the central tube, washer and nut facing torque converter. (Picture) Use "loctite 638", Porsche Part Number 000 043 011 00, on nuts and torque to 33 N-m (23 ft. lbs.)
