When repairing an engine which suffered bearing failure or other damages creating abrasive or other foreign material, the main oil channel must be cleaned. To do this remove both oil plugs.

Plug Removal:
1. Drill hole into one plug.
2. Insert long punch or rod and punch out the plugs.
3. Clean oil channel.

Installation of plug:
1. Put Loctite 262 on sealing surface of new plug.
2. Press in new plug using Special Tool VW295.
3. The plugs must be inserted 2-3 mm below the housing edge.
