Front Disc Brake Pads for Spare Parts Replacement

Concern:
Front disc brake pads for spare parts replacement have a different seat for the wear indicator contact.
Information:
The previous front disc brake pads, part number, 911 351 950 02 (Figure 1) for the single piston brake calipers have been replaced by disc brake pads, part number 911 351 950 06, which has a different seat for the wear indicator contact (Figure 2). In the event of replacement, the wear indicator contact must be fitted in the pad with sealant.

Repairs:
The remaining supplies of the previous disc brake pads, part number, 911 351 950 02 can be used in combination with the previous wear indicator contact, part number, 944 612 211 00. The new disc brake pads, part number, 911 351 95006 must be installed together with the new wear indicator contact, part number, 993 612 965 01.
Note:
The new wear indicator contact (Figure 3, Item 2) must be inserted in the brake pad bore (Figure 3, Item 3) with Silastic 732 RTV sealant, part number, 999 915 451 40.
After inserting the disc brake pads, apply a thin coat of Silastic 732 RTV sealant in the area of the seat (Figure 3, arrow) of the round contact (Figure 3, Item 2) on the lead for the wear indicator.
- Fit round contact.
Warning:
Damage to the leads after incorrect fitting on the pad backing plate. Incorrect wear indication possible in the event of damage.
> Insert round contact for the wear indicator into the bore in the brake pad in such a way that the leads are aligned parallel with the pad backing plate (see Figure 4, arrow).
- If necessary, remove any excess sealant. The sealant must not come into contact with the braking surface of the pads or with the brake discs.
