ENGINE/TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY, SEPARATING AND REJOINING HYDRAULIC CLUTCH ACTUATION
Separating
1. Disconnect cable from starter and cable from backup light switch.
Remove retaining clip at top of accelerator linkage ball socket and remove linkage.
2. Unscrew hex bolt from release shaft and withdraw shaft.
3. Unscrew 4 mounting bolts and separate transmission from engine. Use special tool P119 to unscrew starter motor upper retaining nut.
Rejoining
Note: Apply a multi-purpose grease containing MoS2 to all sliding surfaces of the clutch release mechanism and lubricate the teeth of the input shaft with Optimoly HT.
1. Insert release fork in release bearing and hold in place provisionally using a length of suitable adhesive tape.
2. Rejoin transmission and engine
3. Insert release shaft in release fork from below.
4. Remove adhesive tape through assembly aperture.
5. Tighten release shaft retaining bolt (M 6 x 16).
