DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING CAMSHAFT CASE

Removing and Installing Spray Tube on Camshaft Case

Note: Spray tubes must always be removed and cleaned thoroughly when bearings are damaged and engine is overhauled.


Removing

1. Drill hole in plug approx. 9 mm deep with a 4.8 to 5.0 mm dia. drill. Then cut M 6 threads in hole with a standard tapper. Pull out plug with a M 6 screw and spacer.

Note: Be careful not to damage sealing surface when pulling out.

2. Unscrew centering screws and remove spray tube from the side.

Installing




1. Install spray tube in correct position, making sure plug locating bore is lined up correctly.

Note: Single bores must face up to the intake valve covers. Double bores (not shown in figure) face cam sliding surface.




2. Coat new plug with Optimoly HT and press in plug.

Note: It plug no longer has a press-fit in the case, upset plug before installing.




3. Plug must be pressed in approx. 0.3 mm deeper than sealing surface.
