944 Turbo S vehicles have had brake pads with sintered metal plugs installed on the front axle. These brake pads have been discontinued in production. A new type brake pad without sintered metal plugs, Part Number 928 351 939 04, is installed from the following VIN and date:

95 JN 15 1488 - Feb. 23, 1988

Existing stock of brake pads with sintered metal plugs, Part Number 928 351 939 03, can be used up. Do not mix new and former version brake pads in installation, however.
