All previous copies of the Manual should be discarded as the information in the current revision supersedes all previous documents.
The effective date for implementation contained in this revision is August 1, 1988.
The Manual has been reprinted in its entirety and should be inserted in the previously issued binders.
Pages with reemphasized/new information will be indicated by "REVISED 6/15/88" next to the revision date so personnel familiar with the current procedures can easily become familiar with the most recent changes.
Main Highlights of the Changes are as Follows:
- The Quick Data Guide has been expanded to give tips also on clutches, wiper blades, brake pads and brake discs. (pages 0.5, 2.3).
- The 1988 warranty text has been incorporated. (page 1.3)
- Dashboard & glass replacement have been added to the items which have to be authorized by your Field Service Representative. (pages 2.3, 4.26)
- Radio M-option codes and locations for Spare Part Warranty decision making have been added. (page 2.7)
- A format for total loss reporting has been added. (page 2.27)
- Additional fluids/lubricants have been added and pricing has been updated. (page 3.5)
- Warranty claim preparation and repair order requirements should be reviewed so as to comply with Lemon Law requirements (page 4.3)
- Paint/Corrosion Repair Claims Pricing Procedure has been totally revised and claims must be priced whenever requesting Authorization. (pages 4.11-4.18)
- 1988 paint color codes have been itemized for input purposes. (page 4.19)
- Emergency Order Claim procedure should be reviewed since many claims are denied due to improper procedures. (page 4.22)
- Field Authorizations are valid only for 30 days after Field Service Manager approval. (page 4.26)
- Paint defect codes have been revised. (page 4.27)
- Warranty Support Materials have been expanded. (page 4.55)
