Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

Roller-Cell Fuel Pump Operation:

The fuel pump, located under the front of the car near the fuel tank, delivers fuel to the fuel distributor. The fuel pump operates as soon as the ignition is energized, for about 1 second, to build pressure for starting, then remains energized as long as the engine rotates.
