911 Turbo Model Year 91 (M)

Concern: Threaded stud on inner fight side member damages front luggage compartment carpet.

General Information: The threaded stud on the fight front inner side member (arrow in Figure 1) is not used on left hand drive vehicles and, therefore, was discontinued from production as of April 11, 1991.

Service Information: The threaded stud should be cut or sawed off on all 89, 90 and 91 model year 911 Carrera 2/4's and 91 model year 911 Turbos up to the above VINs when the vehicle is in the workshop for normal service or other repairs.

Work Procedure: 1. Remove trunk carpet.
2. Use small saw or bolt cutter to cut off stud.
3. Deburr stud end and apply rust protection paint. Clean filings from trunk floor.
4. Reinstall trunk carpet
