Test Point 2 - Power Supply for DME Control Unit and Fuel Pump

TEST POINT 2 - DME 944

Power Supply (V)





A) Control Unit (V) (Behind Passenger's Foot Support)

Note: Turn off ignition before pulling off control unit plug!

Plug of control unit is locked with a catch. First unlock catch and then swing plug off of control unit.

Connect voltmeter via test leads on terminals 35 and 5 or 18 and 5 for second test. Turn on ignition.

Display = pertinent battery voltage.

Turn off ignition. Check and connect DME plug! If there is no display, check:

Disconnect 14-pin plug in engine.
Connect voltmeter on term. 3 socket and ground. Turn on ignition.

Display = battery voltage.

If there is no display, leave test connections as they are and check:
Pull off DME relay G 5 and bridge terminals 30 and 87 in CEL socket.

Display = battery voltage.

Pull plug off of one fuel injector. Connect voltmeter via test leads on one plug pin and ground.

Display = battery voltage.

Turn off ignition! Reconnect all plugs!


B) Fuel Pump

Start engine fuel pump should run while starting engine. If not, check:

Fuse No.34(15 A)

Pull off relay G 5. Bridge terminals 30 and 87 b in CEL socket.

Fuel pump should run.
