Concern: Porsche Air Bag Supplemental Restraint System scheduled maintenance.





Service Information: The Porsche Air Bag Supplemental Restraint System must be inspected by an authorized Porsche dealer 4, 8 and 10 years after the date of manufacture shown on the safety compliance sticker and every 2 years thereafter.


This schedule can be found in the Owner's Manual, the Warranty & Maintenance Manual, inside the glove box door (only vehicles equipped with air bag), the Technical Bulletin maintenance schedule, and the Service Information Technik, Air Bag System, WKD 497 121.

The safety compliance sticker containing the car's date of manufacture is located:

944 /968 Series Vehicles - under the hood, to the left of the central electric box

911 Series Vehicles - on the left door jamb

928 Series Vehicles - on the left door sill

The air bag system checking procedure is in the Service Information Technik, Air Bag System, WKD 497 121, page 40, the 944 Workshop Manual Vol. 111, page 68-24, the Carrera 2/4 Workshop Manual Vol. V, page 68-8a, and the 928 Workshop Manual Vol. V, page 68-11.
