Battery with Vent Hose





From May 1988 production, a new battery, PN 944 611 105 00 with vent hose is installed. The vent hose is connected to a 90~ angle fitting on the battery and is routed into the water tray drain at the right of the battery.

New type replacement batteries are packaged with:

1000 mm vent hose PN 477 915 505
90~ angle fitting PN 893 915 507

When installing new type batteries into 85/2 and up cars, cut a 250 mm long piece of hose and install onto the 90~ angle fitting. Route the hose into the water drain at the right of the battery.

When installing new type batteries into 1983-85/1 944 and 924S cars, do not use the vent hose. Routing of a battery vent hose through the water drain into the engine compartment is not allowed.
