Models Affected: 924S, 944, S, S2, Turbo, 928, S, S4, GT
Concern: Connecting rod nuts supplied as spare parts may be improperly manufactured. The threads of the nut may not have been cut at right angles to the nut contact surface. If installed, the tightening torque of these nuts may reduce over time.
Important: All connecting rod nuts must be checked for proper seating prior to installation in an engine. All connecting rod assemblies supplied as spare parts must be disassembled and the nuts checked in the same manner.

Work Procedure: Using a connecting rod assembly (without rod nuts) thread the connecting rod nut onto the rod bolt. At the point when the rod nut begins to contact the rod cap, check for tilting of the contact surface of the nut (see Figure A).
