Work Procedure:

Work Procedure: 1. Turn crankshaft to TDC for cylinder # 1.

2. Loosen camshaft belt tensioner and remove belt from camshaft sprocket.

3. Remove starter and lock engine flywheel using tool 9206.

4. Remove camshaft housing and spark plugs.

5. Pressurize cylinder with approximately 6 bar using suitable tool, e.g. VW 653/3.

6. Remove valve springs using tools 2036 and VW 541/1 (Figure 2).

7. Pull off valve stem seals with tool 9237 (Figure 3).
