The attached revisions should be inserted into the appropriate sections. This information supersedes the pages which are replaced and amended. This information becomes effective upon receipt.
Pages with re-emphasized/new information will be indicated by "Revised 10/31/88" next to the revision date so personnel familiar with the current procedures can easily become familiar with the most recent changes.
MAIN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CHANGES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- 1989 model Quick Data Guide information has been added (pages 0.2, 1.1)
- Quick Data Guide Parts Retention Requirements have been shortened (pages 0.3, 1.2, 2.3)
- Limited Warranty Text for the 1989 models has been incorporated (pages 1.3-1.4)
- Tips For The Consumer for the 1989 models have been incorporated (pages 1.8-1.9)
- Limited Anti-Corrosion Text for the 1989 models has been incorporated (pages 1.19-1.20)
- Limited Anti-Corrosion Warranty Text for the 1986 model now includes Club Sport vehicles (page 1.23)
- Limited Parts arid Accessory Warranty Text has been incorporated (pages 1.55A-1.55B)
- The First Maintenance Mileage Limit for the 1989 models has been changed to 1,800-3,500 miles, to allow for proper suspension height and cam belt settling (page 2.1)
- The Emission Component Coverage table has been updated (page 2.11 -2.16A)
- 1986 Power Train Coverage Guide Lines for Processing and Decision Making have been incorporated (page 2.28)
- Power Train Component Coverage Part ID Table has been incorporated to aid in decision making (page 2.29-2.35)
- Repair Order Requirements have been re-emphasized and requirements under technicians notes must now include: testing values before/after, and all add-on repairs must be initialed by the Service Manager and customer (page 3.1) EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 1989
- The Fluids/Lubricants Pricing and Quantities have been updated for anti-freeze, hypoid oil, ATF, silastic, cement, and hardener (page 3.5)
- Warranty Parts Retention/Scrapping Policy has been shortened (page 4.25)
- Warranty Support Materials have been updated and now include ordering information for manuals and binders (page 4.55)
