ATTENTION: Service Manager/Service Technician

The purpose of this information is to aid the technician in repairing water leaks in the trunk and top area of the 944 S2 Cabriolet.

It must be understood that some leaks in certain areas, depending on the amount of the leak, can be considered normal. No Cabriolet top is 100% leakproof.

Experience shows that repair to water leaks can be effective with minimum disassembly. Attempts should be made to move seals to conform to the door, window glass, or trunk lid. In some cases it will be necessary to shim or relocate a seal or elongate or drill screw holes. Adjustment of the window glass and frame mechanism should only be carried out as a last resort. Before repairs begin, determine condition under which the leak occurs.

Does the leak occur while driving? When the car is parked? Level surface or incline? How long was the car parked or driven before detecting the leak? Leak in light or heavy rain, or car wash only?
