Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Application and ID

On 087 type transaxles, the type I.D. number is located on top of the transmission housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange. On 087 type transaxles, the type I.D number is cast into the righthand side of the final drive housing, and the transaxle codes are stamped into the top of the converter housing flange and on lefthand converter housing reinforcement rib.
The transaxle codes consist of a letter code, followed by the build day, month and year.
