Bearings

Bearings
The proven main bearing of input shaft and pinion shaft with cylindrical roller bearings and four point ball bearings was taken over from earlier Porsche designs.

The hollow shaft runs on the pinion shaft with two needle cages (1 and 2) in the middle and rear area in radial direction. A four point ball bearing (3), which determines the axial position of both shafts to each other, is used on the front end of the pinion shaft. Two other cylindrical roller bearings (4 and 5) guide the hollow shaft in the intermediate case and gearbox.
