C.Installing and Adjusting Elements:
Figure 15:
1. Install new lifting element assembly (Figure 15). Guide the cable tube through the left side "C" pillar carefully. Avoid forcing the tube as damage to the tube and/or outer body panel may result. Direct the cable tube extension into the enlarged opening on the right side and engage the elements into the mounting brackets. Install mounting screws and position elements to the rear. Install center cable tie over cable tube and secure.
Figure 16:
2. Install drive motor guide tube adapter and set cable length to 284 +/- 1.5 mm (Figure 16).
Figure 17:
Note: The lifting elements must be fully down against stop (Figure 17) when adjusting the drive motor cable length. Twist the cable in the housing to adjust the length to 284 +/- 1.5 mm.
3. Install the plastic drive dog onto the drive cable and secure with screw. Insert drive dog and cable into the guide rail of the electric drive and engage the drive dog into the counterpiece (see "Note" in section A, step 5).
4. Position the guide tube pipe correctly on the drive housing and install cover and screws. Reinstall electrical plug and secure electric drive assembly onto its mounts.
5. Adjusting lifting roof. Reinstall edge guard leaving roof liner loose. Install lifting roof panel, check operation. If the engagement angle of the elements to the roof require adjustment, proceed as follows:
Figure 18:
- Attempt to correct adjustment by moving the element housing to the front or rear.
- The gates bolted on the lifting roof lid have slots with which the lifting roof lid and the car roof panel can be adjusted to be in the same plane (Figure 18).
Figure 19:
Figure 20:
If the locking tabs of the elements are not in neutral position (Figure 19) +/- 3 mm (this is the roof down and locked position) adjust the micro switches (arrow Figure 20) by loosening the screw and sliding the switches to the correct position.
6. After adjustments, reinstall roof liner, edge guard and inside trim panel. Install left rear side carpet and vacuum car free of all debris from work performed.
