Porsche Cars N.A., in an effort to help preserve and protect the environment, supports the use of refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment by its dealers.

Chlorofluorohydrocarbons (CFC's) are largely responsible for the destruction of the ozone layer. When working on air conditioning systems, it is vital that no CFC's are released to the atmosphere. CFC's are a major cause of the ozone depletion. When released, they rise to the ozone layer and react with high level radiation. This results in molecular breakdown of the CFC molecules into atoms of chlorine, which attack and destroy ozone.

For more information on this subject, please refer to the Technical Bulletin Book Group 8, Number 8902, Book F, page 135, dated September 1, 1989.
