This bulletin replaces Special Tools Bulletin 9001, dated June 8, 1990.

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. is pleased to announce a repair/exchange program for the following tools:

9201 Belt Tension Gauge Part Number 000 721 920 10
9268 Blink Code Tester Part Number 000 721 926 80

The new procedure is as follows:

1. Enclose a description of the problem, dealer name, dealer number and your name.

2. Send to: Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

3. These tools will be on an exchange program. We will send you a repaired tool and bill you for the cost of repairing your old tool. There will be no freight charges to the dealers for the shipment of the tool.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING 9201 BELT TENSION GAUGES:

Before you return your tool to Porsche Cars N.A. for repair, you should attempt to calibrate it according to the instructions in Volume I of the 944 Repair Manual, pages 13-2b and 13-2c.

Special Tool 9201 may have a slotted screw or a 1.5 mm hex key adjustment screw. The type of screw on your repaired tool may be different from the type on the tool you sent for repair. The tool calibration procedure is the same for either type of screw.
