ATTENTION: Service Manager/Warranty Administrator
Various Automotive Importers and Manufacturers have been contacted recently by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) in reference to an Automotive News article concerning possible GM safety recall fraud due to dealership warranty claim and ownership misreporting.
It is important for you to know that Porsche Cars N.A. views all recalls with the utmost urgency and importance regardless of whether it is safety or emissions related.
Your mission as Porsche dealers is identical in this regard.
Please address our mutual mission and concerns with all appropriate personnel.
We ask that all vehicles brought in for service be checked for open Recall status using our Voice Response System (for details, see Warranty Bulletin 9005, dated March 20, 1990).
It is a simple matter to use our DCS function "Owner Update" (Option 2) or the Ownership change/ update postcard to report Customer Name/Address information on used car sales.
Please inform your service customers of the need to have their updated information and the ease with which such information can be provided using the above mentioned postage-paid postcard.
Thank you for your usual cooperation in this matter.
