ATTENTION: Service Manager/Warranty Administrator

A review of claims submitted during calendar year 1991 shows that a high number of Warranty Claim Review Forms (Appeals) were centered around Warranty Parts Testing, especially on electronic parts that have long and short term fault codes stored in memory.

Many of these claims lacked sufficient information (complaint cause, correction), which makes parts testing much more difficult. Install "SOP" does not provide sufficient information to test the part.

We would like to remind you that Warranty Policy states that technicians MUST note on the back of the Repair Order all test results, measurements, etc., which includes all retrieved fault codes where applicable. This information must also be noted on the Warranty Parts tag in case the paperwork is separated.

This important information will aid in parts testing and Product Quality Support Information supplied to Porsche AG and its vendors as well as improve turn-around on parts submitted for testing.

Your usual cooperation will be appreciated.

Please advise all respective personnel accordingly.
