Subject: Purchasing VIN Plates, Certification Labels and Emission Labels


ATTENTION: Service Manager/Service Technician

This bulletin replaces Technical Bulletin Group X, Number 9101, dated 1-15-91.

VIN plates, certification labels and emission labels can be purchased from Porsche Cars N.A. Inc., Technical Service Department.

Plates and labels are only available for U.S. certified cars. No labels are available for vehicles declared "total loss" or "salvage" by an insurance company.





A log book must be kept covering sales of plates/labels. Please use a copy of the form on the reverse side as a log sheet.





Orders must include: Proof of ownership (copy of valid registration or title), a completed VIN Plate, Certification Label and Emission Label log sheet and the following inforrnation (please print):


Location of plates and labels:

VIN plate - on A-pillar behind windshield Certification label - 6 and 8 cylinder models on B-pillar 4 cylinder models in engine compartment

Emission label - on engine compartment lid

Your dealership will be charged:

VIN plate - $25 Certification label - $40 Emission label - $15
