Concern:
Complaint of noise and/or vibration from transmission mounting area.

General Information:





Noise or vibration complaints from the rear of the vehicle may be caused by loosening of the upper transmission mounting bolt (Figure A, Number 1).

To prevent this from happening, a new bolt with a greater tensile strength and tightening torque has been installed in production since October 8, 1992 from VIN:

964 PS 820259 966 PS 840179

The tensile strength of the new bolt has been increased from 8.8 to 10.9 and the tightening torque has been increased from 46 N-m to 65 N-m.

The new bolt can be identified by the number 10.9 stamped into the head of the bolt (Figure A, Number 1).

If a noise or vibration complaint exists, check the transmission mounting and install a new bolt if necessary.
