Test Point 3 - Throttle Potentiometer

TEST POINT 3 - Throttle potentiometer - Fault code 1_16

Possible Causes, Elimination, Remarks

Using System Tester 9288, the throttle angle may be read directly in the Actual values menu item.

If no plausible display is obtained, check power supply :
- Connect test lead VW 1501 between throttle potentiometer and disconnected plug.
- Connect voltmeter between lead No. 1 and No. 2. Ignition on = display: approx. 5 V (Power supply of throttle potentiometer).

No display: Check according to wiring diagram Connect voltmeter to lead No. 1 and No. 3. Display approx. 0.5 Volt.

Operate throttle. Voltage should now increase to approx. 4.7 Volts.
