Work Procedure "B"
Performed in Conjunction with Recall P01911 Speedster, Model Year 1994 - Replacement of rubber rings on the roof frame.
Note:
Do not raise vehicle on hoist. Never raise the Speedster rear lid and the engine compartment lid at the same time since the two lids could touch and possibly damage the paint.
1. Completely open the speedster top, but do not close the rear lid. Top operating procedure is in the supplement of the owners manual.
2. From the left roof frame, remove screw 1 and eccentric washer 2 (Figure 1).
3. Remove the rubber ring (3 in Figure 1), from the eccentric washer.
4. Install new larger (23 mm dia.) rubber ring, Part Number 964 563 639 00, onto the eccentric washer.
- Start screw and eccentric washer on the roof frame.
- Turn the eccentric washer to the highest position (Figure 2). To aid in adjustment, lift the roof slightly and then tighten screw.
5. Repeat entire procedure for the right side.
6. Close the top and lock the rear lid down. Top operating procedures are found in the supplement to the owners manual.
