Crankcase upper and lower sections and balance shaft cover are machined together and must be replaced as a set. Ensure code numbers match and install balance shaft covers so that codes are visible from above. When sealing upper and lower crankcase halves, apply thin coat of suitable locking compound in areas of oil intake and sealing surface in areas of flywheel.
