Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Description and Operation

Fuel / Air Line:

FUEL SUPPLY
Fuel system consists of a fuel tank, electric fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel rail, electric fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel return line.

The electric fuel pump is mounted on fuel tank. It draws fuel from tank and pumps it to filter and fuel rail. A pressure regulator is fitted to the end of fuel rail. Depending on intake manifold pressure, the regulator adjusts system pressure to 3.8 bar. A return line routes excess fuel back to tank.

Fuel lines are made of plastic and must NOT be deformed or kinked. For safety reasons, fuel lines must be replaced if damaged in any way,.

Air Intake System:

AIR INTAKE SYSTEM
Intake system has a bypass line with air flowing into intake manifold from both front and back (via bypass). This system exploits pressure oscillations excited by engine's intake sequence and achieves improved cylinder filling at medium to high engine speeds.
