Concern:
The new style lock nut for transmission shafts without an indentation for the locking collar is presently not available. Loctite 243 must be used. This involves the following transmissions:

G50.20/21 - 911 Carrera
G64.20/21 - 911 Carrera 4

General Information:





From April 1995, manual transmissions no longer have an indentation for the locking of the hexagon nut on the main shaft and pinion shaft. In these cases, use the early version lock nut and Loctite the lock nut to the transmission shaft(s) using LOCTITE 243, part number PNA 043 243 00. It is not necessary to stake the locking collar on the locking nuts when using Loctite 243.

Loctite 243 may not be commonly available through most automotive parts suppliers, however it is available from PCNA, under part number PNA 043 243 00 (10 ml) and may be order through your parts department.
