Remote Control Sender
A maximum of four (4) remote control senders may be allocated to one car. If a remote control is lost, damaged, or malfunctioning, a replacement remote control can be purchased and calibrated to operate to a specific vehicle. Since the vehicle comes with two (2) remote controls, any additional remote control senders must be calibrated at the same time along with the controls already existing for the vehicle.Remote Control Calibration
A new remote control can only be calibrated by following the "Emergency Unlocking" and "Entering the Code Numbers" procedures. Once you have reached the end of step 5 (Entering the Code Numbers section), do not switch off the ignition. You now have one (1) minute to complete the calibration process. Have on hand the number of remote controls (up to four) you wish to calibrate to the vehicle. Press the button on the remote control for at least one (1) second, and the light emitting diodes on the doors will start to flash. Calibration of the remote is then complete.
Set remote controls one after the other until all of the remote controls are recalibrated. Any remote control already assigned to the vehicle which is not recalibrated during this process will become inoperative. If the remote controls are not calibrated within one (1) minute or the ignition switch is turned off, the calibration process will be ended.
Remote Control Maintenance
The only maintenance the remote control should require is replacement of the battery. A weak battery can be recognized by a reduction of the range of the remote control. Although a weak battery may have sufficient power to light the LED in the remote control, it is possible that the transmitted signal is too weak to deactivate the immobilizer, alarm, and central locking system. Therefore, it is important to replace the battery in the remote control before this occurs.
Note:
Frequent activation of the remote control outside its range will lead to rapid discharge of the battery in the remote control.
The vehicle is delivered with a spare battery and a screw driver bit to open the transmitter. These parts are stored in a plastic bag in the luggage compartment.
The customer should be informed of the existence of these items and where they may be found in the vehicle. It is recommended that you make a copy of "Emergency Operation with Keys" from the Owner's Manual, on which you should note the 4 digit code number of the Immobilize control unit. This document should be carried by the customer in the event emergency operation becomes necessary.
The immobilizer system is installed in 1995 911 Carreras as of the following VIN numbers:

WP0CA2 99 0 SS 34 2563 Cabriolet
