General Information:

All Tiptronic transmissions produced since February 1995, for 1995 or newer 911 Carrera's are equipped with a new hydraulic unit, part number 943 325 001 02.

Identification of Tiptronic transmissions with the new hydraulic unit is:

Repair Information:





Transmissions with the new hydraulic unit must have the transmission control unit with software version 2525. Tiptronic transmission control units with this version software can be identified by the bar code label on the front of the transmission control unit (see arrow in illustration).

If a transmission with the new hydraulic unit or a new hydraulic unit is installed in a vehicle produced before the following VIN's, the transmission control unit must also be replaced.

Transmission control unit with software 2525 has been installed as of VINs:

996 SS 342227 CABRIOLET
999 SS 322660 COUPE

When in doubt as to which software version a vehicle has, check the version on the bar code tag on the front of the Tiptronic control unit.

Marking Transmission:

If a new hydraulic unit, part number 943 325 001 02, is installed in a transmission that previously did not have the new hydraulic unit, the transmission should be marked with a "S" in the area shown on page 1 of this bulletin referring to REBUILT TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSION.
