911 Carrera (993) Model Year 1995-On

Concerns:
The front transmission case cover and spur gears are no longer available as separate parts.

General Information:
Should repairs to the Tiptronic transmission front cover, spur gears, bearings or intermediate plate become necessary, they must be replaced as a complete set These parts are no longer available as separate items.

The part numbers for the complete spur gear sets are as follows:

Model and Year Part Number

911 Carrera 2 - 1990 and 1991 943 300 911 00

911 Carrera 2 - 1992-on 943 300 911 01

911 Carrera (993) 1995-on 943 300 911 01

Note:
Because the individual parts to repair the spur gear assembly are no longer available, the repair procedure for "Setting tension on spur gear roller bearing" in the workshop manual is no longer valid. This should be noted in the shop manuals 911 Carrera 214 Volume 3 pages 39-108a to 39-108b and 911 Carrera (993) Volume 3 page 38-127. The repair manuals will be revised at a later date to reflect this change.

Repairs:
The vent valve that is supplied with the complete spur gear set must be pressed into the intermediate plate after the spur gear set has been installed on the transmission.

Repairs may be performed involving external parts (valve body, pump. sensors or differential). If repair to the automatic section of the transmission is necessary. then the entire transmission must be replaced.
