Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators: Testing and Inspection
Coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel gauges can be checked using tester VAG 1301, or equivalent. When using the tester, disconnect the sensor for the gauge being checked. Select proper tester unit setting as listed below, for unit being checked. If gauge indicates incorrect or no value, check gauge wiring for an open or short circuit. If gauge electrical circuit is satisfactory, replace gauge unit. If gauge reading is within one needle width of the indicated reading, replace gauge sending unit.Coolant Temperature Gauge Test Specifications
