Code Administration

Code administration
During production of the vehicle, a computer is used to transfer the codes and serial numbers required for the theft protection to the DME and drive block control modules installed in the vehicle.
This information is recorded in the vehicle master file created for each vehicle.
If these control modules are exchanged, the necessary data must be entered using the Porsche System Tester 2.
- The data can be recorded in the drive block control module once only.
- The data can be recorded in the DME control module repeatedly.

This data can be called up using the "Integrated Porsche Trader Processing System" (IPAS). Access is only possible after a legitimation check and is subject to the strictest secrecy.
If control modules are to be replaced, the previous drive block No. must be determined by means of the IPAS system using the vehicle ID No.

Ignition key, ignition lock

NOTE: If the ignition key is not moved from the position "0" after the vehicle has been swift bed off, the buzzer contact (terminal 86 5) remains closed.

The following units remain functional when the ignition key is in this position:
- Airbag control module
- Alarm system
- Instrument cluster
- Radio
- (Daytime lamps for Canada vehicles)

The power consumption of the above-mentioned consumers may cause the battery to severely discharge in a short period and become damaged.

Caution: The ignition key must therefore be removed before the driver leaves the vehicle.
