Repairs
1. Clean the vehicle.2. Remove the hardtop - refer to Boxster Technical Manual Group 6, page 61-43.
3. Place hardtop upside down on a soft and clean surface.
4. Unclip left and right side inner trim linings (Figure 1, arrow).
5. Mark the position of both hardtop latches (for re-installation) with a non-permanent marker.
6. Unscrew the M6 x 20 bolts, (Figure 2, arrows) and remove both latching levers.
7. Glue the foam rubber seals to the inner sides of the left and right B-pillars. Note proper positioning in figures 3-7.
Arrows A: The foam rubber seal must be flush with the rear seal base at both edges.
Arrows B: The foam rubber seal must project by 15 to 20 mm at the front seal base.
Arrows C: The foam rubber seal must be parallel with the inner edge of the hardtop (tolerance +/- 5 mm).
Arrow D: The foam seal must project to the edge of the guide sleeve of the latching lever with the latching lever installed.
8. Fasten both latching levers to their original marked positions using new collar screws (M6 x 20). Tightening torque: 9.2 Nm (6.8 ft/lb). Remove all markings.
9. Install interior trim.
10. Install the hardtop.
