Instrument Cluster

The Boxster's instruments are a new design and combined to form a unit comprising three separate round instrument displays.

The following instrument cluster variants are available:
ROW Speedometer: km/h - with and without on-board computer
- with and without Tiptronic
Codable country variants - Canada
- Japan
- Saudi Arabia
USA Speedometer: mph - with and without on-board computer
- with and without Tiptronic
GB Speedometer: mph - with and without on-board computer
- with and without Tiptronic

The instruments are installed with new stepper-motor measuring gauges.

The characteristics of these measuring gauges are e.g. high torque, low hysteresis, and high accuracy. Since there is no return spring the pointer is actively reset when the ignition has been switched off.


NOTE: If there is a drop in voltage, the pointer remains at the position at which it was at the time of the voltage drop. When voltage is applied again, the pointer is reset.
