ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATION:

Ambient Temperature SAE Viscosity Range Mineral Oil Based Engine Oils
Generally higher then 50°F (10°C) 15W-40, 20W-50, 20W-40
Generally lower then 50°F (10°C) 15W-40, 10W-40, 10W-30
Generally lower then 14°F (-10°C) 10W-30, 5W-30

Ambient Temperature SAE Viscosity Range Synthetic Oil Based Engine Oils
Generally higher then 50°F (10°C) 10W-40, 15W-40, 15W-50
Generally lower then 50°F (10°C) 10W-40, 10W-30, 5W-30

Recommended oil viscosity ranges dependent on ambient temperatures:
Use only engine oils labelled as API SH or SJ, or ILSAC GF 1 and viscosity grades of SAE 10 W-40 or higher. For continuous weather conditions with ambient temperatures of mostly below 32°F/0°C use SAE 5 W-30 engine oils or follow the recommendations of the table above. Preferably you should use synthetic or semisynthetic engine oils. If in doubt ask your authorized Porsche dealer for Porsche tested and approved all-season oils.
