Approved Oil Availability

Porsche approved oil availability varies by global region. Some oils on the following "Approved List" may not be available in certain regions of the North American market, or, may only be available in overseas markets exclusively. When searching the "Approved List" for a particular manufacturer or brand name, keep in mind that the below listed "Sales Region Codes" are marketed for the North American region:

CAN--Canada
USA--United States of America
WW-World-Wide

Overview:

Information
Porsche AG has reached an agreement with the oil companies which involves setting a time limit on the validity of our engine oil approvals.

The period of validity is between 2 and 3 years. The expiration date of the approval is given in the last column in the list.

Once this validity period has elapsed, the approval in question is revoked unless an extension is requested by the relevant manufacturer.

Sales Areas:

The respective sales area is also listed in order to clarify where the approved oils are available. Here are the meanings of the symbols shown.

Miscibility:

All engine oils approved by Porsche can be mixed provided they are of the same Porsche oil specification. This means that it is not necessary to flush the engine when the oil is changed if another type of oil is used. However, since every brand of oil has a specially adapted unique composition, the same brand and type of oil should be used for topping up between oil change intervals if possible.
