Manual Program Switch

P0000
Manual program switch

Function
The manual program switch connects ground potential to the transmission control unit in the manual shift gate, which releases manual touch shifting. A manual program is not possible if the transmission control unit detects a short circuit to ground.

Diagnosis conditions
A fault is detected and stored when the ignition is switched on and the manual program is active.

Diagnosis procedure

NOTE: The function of the manual switch can be tested with system tester 9288 (switching inputs/manual program).

Check ground at transmission control unit, pin 13.
1. Pull off transmission control unit connector.
2. Connect ohmmeter to transmission control unit connector, pin 13, and ground.

Indication:
- In the automatic gate infinite resistance
- In the manual gate 0...5 ohms.

Check wire from the transmission control unit to the selector lever switch for short circuit to ground.
1. Additionally pull off connector on selector lever switch.
2. Connect ohmmeter to transmission control unit connector, pin 13, and ground.

- Indication: infinite resistance
- If 0.. .5 ohms is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
