Transmission Oil Temperature Above Maximum Value

48, Transmission oil temperature above maximum value

NOTE:
- The maximum value is 150 °C, corresponding to approx. 2.2 kOhms.
- If this fault is detected, a request is sent to the DME control module to reduce power which is done by cancelling the throttle angle.

Diagnostic conditions
- ATF oil level OK
- Ignition on
- Selector lever in position 'D' or 'R'

Possible cause of fault

NOTE: If the ATF temperature sensor is faulty, the electrical part of the hydraulic control unit must be replaced.

- ATF oil level too low
- ATF temperature [>] 150 °C
- ATF temperature sensor faulty
- Tiptronic control unit faulty

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- The ATF temperature can be read out with the 9588 Porsche System Tester II under the menu item 'Actual values - temperature'.
- The displayed temperature may vary from the actual temperature by a few degrees.
