Gear monitoring, 2nd gear - signal implausible
Function
The ratio between transmission input speed and output speed is monitored when monitoring the 2nd to 5th gears, taking into account the gear selected in each case. In the case of deviations from setpoint values, the Tiptronic control module detects whether shifting was performed mechanically/hydraulically.
Diagnosis conditions
- Selector lever position "D", gear 2, 3, 4 or 5
- Engine speed > 3104 rpm
- ATF temperature > 60 °C
Diagnosis procedure
NOTE: Whether the transmission has actually shifted to the correct gear in each case can be checked as described below:
- ATF temperature between 40 °C and 9500.
- Hold gears 2...5 in the manual program.
- On level ground (not on the roller test stand), drive with a constant vehicle speed or transmission output speed and read off the engine speed. The following values must be achieved:
