Fuel Injector, Cylinder 1 - Short to B+

Function
The coil of the fuel injector is supplied directly with B+ (battery voltage) on one side and with ground via an output stage in the DME control module on the other side.
This DTC is used to monitor the ground trigger.

Diagnosis conditions
A fault is detected and stored in the memory when the engine speed is over 80 rpm and the battery voltage lies between 7.5 and 17 V.

Diagnosis Procedure







1 Check fuel injector.

1. Remove connector of injector 1.
2. Connect ohmmeter to pins 1 and 2 of injector.
Display: 11 - 13 ohms at 20 °C.

2 Check wiring harness.

1. Connect special tool 9616 to wiring harness (DME control module connector).
2. Remove connector of fuel injector.
3. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616, pin 3, and injector connector, pin 2.
Display: 0 - 5 ohms

4. Connect ohmmeter to special tool 9616, pin 3, and ground.
Display: Infinity ohm

5. Connect voltmeter to special tool 9616, pin 3, and ground.
Ignition on.
Display: 0 V

If the measured values are not achieved, check wiring harness for chafing and pinching damage.
